WHAT IS THE TOURIST TAX?
The tourist tax contributes to the financing of expenses intended to encourage tourist use of French resorts.
The tourist tax was introduced in the Côte Landes Nature territory by a decision dated October 2012.
The product of tourist tax (taxe de séjour) is allocated to the development of tourism.
WHEN SOULD I PAY?
All year long : from 1st January to 31st December.
WHO PAYS?
Persons not resident in the territory and housed for a fee.
WHO DOES NOT PAY?
- Minors under 18 years old
- Holders of a seasonal employment contract employed in one of the municipalities of the territory
- Persons benefiting from emergency accommodation or temporary relocation
WHO COLLECTS IT?
The Host is the collector of the tourist tax: it is he who collects the amount from the visitor.
He must pay the entire tax to COTE LANDES NATURE TOURISME, mandated by the objective agreement of the community of municipalities for the collection of the tax.
WHAT WILL THIS TAX BE USED FOR?
The tourist tax is the preferred financing tool for tourism.
Services (free tourist shuttles, beach cleaning, etc.), advertising, promotional actions, the quality of hospitality in the broad sense of the term, attract tourists to the territory.
The more important the revenue from the tourist tax is, the greater the possibilities for promotional actions and the more effective the activities of the tourist office will be.
It is a WIN/WIN principle to maintain the virtuous circle of quality tourism.
HOW IS IT CALCULATED?
The tourist tax is calculated per night per adult person staying in the accommodation.
