The bear is a mythical animal to which humans have always attached great importance.
The object of legends, feared or adored, praised or demonized, it is deeply rooted in our societies.
Designed by the Science&Society department of the University of Montpellier in 2018, this exhibition pays tribute to the ancient king of animals, from prehistory to today?s teddy bear. It offers an imaginary journey through different representations of the animal, from bear to teddy bear, in three thematic sections:
- The bear in nature
- The science of teddy bears: peluchology
- The bear in literature
The imaginary bear is at the heart of this travelling exhibition, which invites young and old alike to take a journey from ursid to teddy bear, punctuated by panels of scientific content richly illustrated with drawings.
Admission during library opening hours.
