Piste Cyclable "Lo Camin de Hè"

The greenway "Lo Camin de Hè ("The Railway" in Gascon) follows the route of the old Landes railway line which linked the village of Vielle-Saint-Girons to Taller, passing through Linxe and Castets. After the Bordeaux-Arcachon line was inaugurated in 1841, the race to modernity continued in the direction of Dax and Bayonne. All that remained for the people of the Landes was to "connect" to this network with a succession of secondary lines. It was on these lines that the greenways of the Communauté de Commune Côte Landes Nature were built. At the time, people used to take the "Matche-cul" (from the Gascon matcha: to hit, to crush).
